Kevin Wang, Head Coach |
Kevin has been an
assistant coach for the Whitworth Pirate Swim Team during the last 4 years where
he has trained National qualifying swimmers. He has extensive swimming experience
- both as a former swimmer and Coach. He's currently an ASCA Level 3 certified
coach. Kevin started swimming at the age of six. He was an age group swimmer,
swam in High School, and later swam for Whitworth College, NCAA Div. III.

Kevin Eddy, Assistant Coach |
Keddy comes to SWAT after 2 years
of work with StingRay Swim Club (SSC-PN) in Snohomish, WA. There, he coached the
Senior 1 group, leading several of his swimmers to Age Group Sectional, Senior Sectional,
and Junior National qualifying times. Before SSC, he was an assistant at Gold Medal
Swim Club (GMSC-IE), and the co-head coach at Moscow High School. With Moscow High
School, he coached several individual state finalists and champions, and helped
to guide the boys team to the Idaho State Championship. Keddy grew up in Lewiston
Idaho and began swimming at age 12 for the Lewis Clark Neptunes. He swam for Whitworth,
graduating in 2004. He and his wife, Amy, have a son named Noah, who was born in
2006. |

Ariana Augustinas,
Assistant Coach |
Coach Ariana is entering her second year with The Waves Coaching Staff, but has
been a longtime member of The Waves family. She swam with The Waves for four years
while attending High School at Mt. Spokane. Her passion for the sport is apparent
in her coaching style, demonstrating enthusiasm for sharing with swimmer’s all that
she has learned in her own swimming career and more! Ariana was born and raised
here in Spokane, and currently attends Spokane Community College. Following her
graduation next spring, she plans to go to Eastern Washington University and major
in elementary education. Ariana enjoys reading and spending time with family and
friends in her spare time. |

Christina Hinkel, Assistant Coach |
Christina is very excited to begin her first season
working with The Waves. She loves young children and spent four years teaching swimming
lessons in her hometown of Portland, Oregon. She has been swimming competitively
for ten years with the Mount Hood Swim Club (based in Gresham,Oregon), and is now
continuing her competitive swimming career as a Pirate for Whitworth University.
She is a freshman this year, currently majoring in elementary education, and hopes
to someday teach in a 3rd grade classroom. Christina graduated as a valedictorian
from Portland Lutheran High School where she was involved with the leadership council,
praise team, and varsity track and cross country teams. She is greatly enjoying
her college experience in Spokane and can’t wait to see
what the next four years
have to offer. |

Jenna Spencer, Assistant Coach |
Jenna is also joining The Waves staff this
year. She is a senior at Whitworth University, majoring in English. She comes to
us with much experience, having taught swimming at Overlake, and with her own extensive
competitive experience as a member of Bellevue Club Swim Team. Jenna’s aspirations
as a coach are to progress the skills and technique of every child while positively
reinforcing their developing personalities and abilities. |
